It started at 2 a.m., like it does for every host
We were managing a growing portfolio of short-term rentals: our own units, some leased, some run for their owners. The phone buzzed all night. Guests messaged on WhatsApp, paid by bank transfer, and sent a screenshot as proof. Door codes went out by hand, cleaning ran on a group chat, and month-end meant a week inside spreadsheets trying to work out whose money was whose.
We did what everyone does: we went shopping for software. What we found assumed a card on file and treated the way our guests actually pay as an edge case. Some tools would not even show a price without a sales call. And what they called accounting was a statement generator: a PDF for the owner, nothing that would reconcile, nothing a bank or a partner could trust.

So we decided to solve it, for everyone
We built our own operating system, one problem at a time, in the order the business hurt: the shared WhatsApp inbox, the no-login quote link, human-verified payments, the turnover board, door codes that release themselves only when payment and ID are both verified, and finally real double-entry books that know whether a unit is owned, leased, profit-share, managed, or investor-funded.
Somewhere along the way the mission got bigger than our own portfolio. Every host we knew had the same nights and the same month-ends: the self-manager with two apartments, the co-host, the management company, the arbitrage operator, the owner who just wants an honest statement. So we turned our system into a product for all of them, priced it in public, and kept running our own units on it. That portfolio is live on Stay N Host right now. It is a live business, not a demo. When a workflow is clumsy, we feel it before you do.
